especially for under-represented stakeholder groups in IG.
Subi Chaturvedi is an activist- academician, teaches journalism and communication at the leading liberal arts college in India, the Lady Shri Ram College For Women, (Delhi University) & a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-D) engaged in research in Global Internet Governance.
She is also a media critic, columnist, multimedia producer and a regular commentator the country's leading state owned as well as private broadcasters. Her areas of intervention range from global internet governance, surveillance, privacy, deepening democracy, freedom of speech and expression, women and safety, rights of women online, government policies for new media, broadband access, social media and internet.

She has co-directed Freedom Song a critically acclaimed documentary on FoE in India as an independent documentary filmmaker. Has led new media outreach and supported onground activation for an exhaustive internet safety campaign Stop.Think.Connect aimed at the youth, collaborating with the India-Internet Safety Campaign for DSCI (a NASSCOM initiative). Subi has wide international exposure of international grading and rating system as a part of the design jury, at the IBC Amsterdam; a special observer at the world photo awards at Cannes, jury for the Canon India’s photo Marathon. She has conceived several innovative programs in new media technology and internet governance in leading Universities and technology institutes
Subi held seven roundtables & workshops on Internet Safety, Cybersecurity, privacy and concerns of the youth, enhanced cooperation, FoE, deepening democracy & Internet governance, Right to information, Human Development and the role of media, Surveillance & multistakeholderism across the country.
She contributed, immensely, as a member of:

ACTIVITIES and AREAS OF INTERVENTION (CURRENT):
- Promoting the role and participation of the youth, women and girls in ICT and the policy dialogue and decision making,
- Improving e-governance and deepening democracy through 'media for change'
- Building bridges between different stakeholders in IG and enabling conversations on national and domestic level on important policy concerns such as cybersecurity, openness, universality, human rights, permission less innovation and freedom of speech and expression online, through roundtables, workshops, public hearings and youth meets (Internet Dialogues) for India .
- Actively participate in domestic as well as International meetings on Internet governance and enhanced cooperation to represent my stakeholder perspective, especially as an organisation representing civil society organisations, women, academicians and media from developing countries and emerging economies. To amplify our stories of success, conflicts, challenges and opportunities that India has to offer the world
- Undertake rigorous research studies on the Impact of Internet on society, increasing participation and the Internet of the future. Assessing the implication for communities from the margins, minorities and underrepresented stakeholder groups.
- Champion and lead capacity building workshops for these communities and create platforms for creation of local content and dissemination.
- Focus on institutionalisting best practices on the Internet for a safer and more fulfilling experience to amplify innovation, commerce, connections, communication and conversation
- To write and shape opinion and edit pieces through commentaries for national dailies, journals and provide inputs and commentary to the electronic media to inform the debate and dialogue on Internet Governance policy questions and it's impact on citizens
